Would it not undermine R* by involving gamers in this kind of way? I mean, you'd hope that pre-eminent game developers would have some kind of system in place to get rid of cheaters and modderz rather than rely on a bunch of bad loser/bitter kids to make false reports against people.
I fail to see the motivation R* would have of doing it as well.
I fail to understand the psychology of doing what the OP suggested. If anything, it serves as a match-making facility more than anything.Īre people really that pathetic though? So, what, people are seriously going to go into sessions, hang around in their trucks, and not do anything apart from scan other players and report them? Could they not just play the game and earn some money or, wait, do they not need to because they've glitched and modded so much money into their accounts that that's all they can do in the game now? Or in LIFE generally? Or has it just become about b****y little kids finding another way to get their own back on you just because they can't stand being blown up? R* don't expect you or anybody else to literally police the game. Why? Because if you're spending your entire life on GTA scrolling through lists looking to kick everybody with high K/Ds then you're doing something wrong with your life, in the game and out of it. Most people playing the game don't do that, however. People can see if your K/D is high by looking at the 'Players' tab and if they were so inclined, they'd report you from there. It has no hidden agenda nor does it serve any real purpose other than to see what you can discover through either the Start Menu or by searching for players on the Social Club. The player scanner is there to compare stats, nothing more. If it was added to the game for 'a reason', R* would charge you in-game for it like they do with everything else that is useful, and everything else you're talking about echoes off the padded walls in your paranoid Sandy Shores bunker, frankly. Ultimately the player scanner serves no real purpose, And this is what I truly believe its hidden purpose really is. Sure, Rockstar could do another purging of funds like when they did with the ill-gotten gains update, But why waste resources and time when they can just have us do the footwork instead. This could be either within a database on their servers "Not saying that is it but it's very possible" or they're entrusting players to report the profiles. Some of you may have already drawn to this idea, But the player scanner wasn't added to the game for no reason, They added that so instead of them doing all the footwork themselves to weed out the Modded profiles and Retro Custom dupers, We're doing it ourselves.
